No copies plz!

All right. Apparently it is required now for each DA artist who doesn't want to be ripped off to explicitly SAY they don't want to be ripped off. So while I go through my entire gallery and add notices to my deviations, I'll clarify it:

You do not have permission to trace, alter, reuse, or reference any of my artwork. Unless you are a commissioner and have paid for an image, or unless I have granted limited personal use rights for the few wallpapers in my gallery, you are not to copy or repost my artwork anywhere.

Edit: In case anyone wants to read the article I'm referencing for themselves (and I suggest they do), you can find it here: [link]

But I will quote the pertinent text here:

:bulletgreen:If you are not comfortable with the idea of people reproducing your artwork (even if it's purely for personal use or practice and doesn't affect you or your artwork in any way), you need to define in your artist comments (or in the copyright section of the metadata of your files) that no one is allowed to reproduce or derive your artwork. Should you encounter artwork of yours that has been traced and you do not want it existing on dA, you are within your rights to report it and have it removed.

:bulletgreen: If the original artist has not objected to traces/reproductions of their artwork being uploaded to dA in any way (written or verbal), any report for deletion to the Help Desk will be rightfully denied.

Really? Ugh... Great. Now I have to haul over my entire gallery. Thanks for letting us know.

Oh Christ...

*wonders when she'll ever manage to cover her thousand deviations with that*

I know. It sucks, because it does say that you need to put the notice in your artist comments section...on each deviation. |P

Whoo! Good times! *sarcasm*

>_> DA has been doing a rather good job of tempting me to move to a different website... except I haven't decided where I'd go.

It's sad. DA is a large site and it's a great way to keep up with friends and artists you admire...but their policies on copying and nudity are so God-awful. D: I don't know if there are any other art sites I could go to. (I am definitely not a candidate for Y!Gallery or FA.) XD;
