Heh. I kind of figured you might. 8D

1.) Sammael (only called "Sam" by Ariel)
2.) Sammael is the name of an incubus in Judeo-Christian mythology, so my Sam gets his name from that. (The original Sammael is supposed to be his father, so he's named after his sire.)
3.) A - My original inspiration for Sam came after hearing a line from an episode of MST3K: "I'm just tending the incubus, mother!" I wondered what a child might do if they found and raised a demon as their own.
B - Sam's character design wasn't supposed to be particularly original. I deliberately chose the stereotypical elements of what makes a demon a demon: horns, scales, claws, and a long snakey tail. (Because for most of his 400+ years, Sam was a stereotypical demon.)
C - Sam was given stereotypical demon features because it's his personality that undergoes a major change as his story progresses. So he becomes much less of a "typical" demon. XB
D - Sam's character development is still ongoing in my head. I just recently decided that he likes gold jewelry, but since he's adopted by a little girl she gives him friendship bracelets instead. So that's why they're in the latest drawing of Sam, but not the earlier ones.
E - Um...Sam is also called Sammael the Misbegotten, because of the way he was conceived--deceitfully. (Hey, that's about his creation...just now how I did it...)
4.) Sam's favorite color is probably blue, because it's the color of his scales and at first he has a big ego about his appearance. He doesn't really have a favorite movie or band, but his theme song is "Creep" by Radiohead. (Listen to the acoustic version. I it so much.)
5.) Ha...I've managed to give a lot of backstory already, but okay. For most of his life, Sam was a typical incubus, so he liked a lot of sex. Mature incubi don't just go out and rape random women. They consider it far more entertaining to engage in grandiose Count of Monte Cristo-style schemes of deception and manipulation, so for a few centuries Sam was into that. Unfortunately, Sam seemed to be cursed with an unlucky streak, and his schemes often failed or backfired in his face (though he likes to claim at least partial credit for the French Revolution). One day, he attempts to steal one of the skulls his powerful father Sammael I wears. Sam learned that the skulls were the remains of his father's wife and first child, and that his heart was divided and stored inside the skulls. Sam wanted to steal the skull to get at the heart, because one way demons gain power is to defeat and consume another demon. But his father caught him, beat the shit out of him, and when Sam accuses him of being weak because of the skulls, Sammael I tells Sam he wants him "Brought low." So he seals Sam inside a boulder and seals the boulder within the Earth's crust. Sam is cut off from the powers of Hell which feed him, so as the years roll by his power fades and he can no longer sustain his adult body. By the time the rock breaks through to the surface, most of his power is gone, and Sam has shrunk to look like a child. And he is accidentally released by a 7-year-old human girl named Ariel.

Well, since Sam has already been done, I'd like to know more about Raziel.

1.) Raziel (but you knew that)
2.) I can't exactly remember where I heard the name Raziel or why I chose it for this character. I might have heard it from that "Legacy of Kain" series of games, even though I've never played them. But in Hebrew, the name means "God's Secret", which fits perfectly with his backstory. I guess the name chose the character...?
3.) A. Um...early on, Raziel was heavily influenced by Yasha-ou from CLAMP's early work RG Veda. He still has some visual similarities, but his personality and history are totally different.
B. Raziel used to be the "Yasha" demon, so his mistress was called the Yasha no Senshi. Now that I know a bit more Japanese he is the Majin Raziel, or "demon god" so his master is called the Majin no Senshi.
C. Um...I honestly can't remember much else about how I came up with his character or design. I just stumbled across him one day, I suppose. XD;
4.) Raziel (in his actual canon story) lives in an alternate fantasy world, so things like bands, movies, and widely-published books don't really exist. Plus Raziel wouldn't care about them anyway if they did.
5.) Raziel actually consists of TWO personalities sharing one body. During the day, he is Light Raziel, who has made only ONE appearance in my gallery because he's kind of boring. XD; At night, Raziel's physical form and personality change into Dark Raziel, who has black hair, red demon eyes, and long animal-like ears (and pretty white angel wings). Dark and Light Raziel have no memory of what the other does.

Light Raziel has white hair, blue eyes, elf ears, and different body markings (and black demon wings). In personality, he is calm, stoic, dependable, and a little sad. He believes he has to atone for his numerous past sins, and agreed to give up his soul to a human master in order to maintain the balance in his world. Dark Raziel, however, as a separate individual did NOT agree to the bondage, and so he constantly fights with his human master (who is always female, actually). His personality is vastly different from his daytime persona: he is rude, sarcastic, lecherous, and when he loses control (or when his human master loses control of him) he flies into berserker rages. He has been known to go on killing rampages when pushed too far. Dark Raziel claims to hate everything (including himself), and also says he is incapable of love or change. Dark Raziel is strongest at offensive magic, and Light Raziel is strongest at defensive magic.
