There's a lot of clean-up to be done first, though.

I am just in love with the shading of the head, especially the eye and the horns (which I notice are a certain kind of horn XP ). And the scales are great, and I really like that you didn't cover him completely in them.
The angle of the far front hand seems a bit off, though. Just seems a little odd to my eyes =/
But I'm so used to seeing your digital work it's nice to see some traditional <3

I'm not quite sure what you mean about the hand, though. It was just a weird mixture of so many different types of anatomy...maybe that's why it looks awkward?
I realized I hadn't done much traditional in ages. Actually, when I scanned this, the last preview image in my scanner software was my Incubus King (Sam's dad, which I did last summer). Sometimes I find that traditional is better for certain types of details. But cleaning it up is a bitch. Digital art is so nice and clean and doesn't have the grain of paper to mess up the lines...

I guess it just seems like the top of the hand is turned a bit too far to his left =/ But like you said, it might just be the different anatomy. Or the fact I haven't slept in about 20 hours >_>
Yeah, I love traditional pencil work. But it's such a pain to touch things up. Now I scan things on black & white (I've learnt my lesson on doing otherwise) so I don't have to deal with the grain, but the bad thing is the lines become pixelated and require much touching up. But I'd rather do that than deal with the grain and the big, thick stripe my scanner puts onto everything it scans DX
